RankSpy On-Page — Audit Competitor Homepage
The On-Page tab in RankSpy audits a competitor's homepage for tag quality, content structure, schema, and conversion signals.
---
Introduction
On-Page is the second-most underused tab in RankSpy because it sounds like it duplicates RankAudit. It does not. RankAudit audits your own site; RankSpy's On-Page audits the competitor's site. The cross-comparison reveals exactly where the competitor is technically stronger than you and where they are weaker. This article walks through the audit.
What Gets Audited
The On-Page tab mirrors RankAudit's Technical checks:
- Title tag length and quality.
- Meta description length and quality.
- Heading hierarchy (H1 count, sequential structure).
- Schema markup (which schema types deployed).
- Image alt text coverage.
- Internal linking density.
- Word count and content depth signals.
Reading the Audit
For each check, RankSpy shows pass/warn/fail. The summary gives you a quick read on the competitor's technical sophistication.
A typical pattern: well-funded competitors pass nearly every check; insurgent competitors miss several but make up for it with content velocity.
Cross-comparing With Your Own RankAudit
Open RankSpy's On-Page audit for the competitor side by side with your RankAudit's Technical tab. For each check, note whether you both pass, both fail, or differ.
The interesting cases are where you fail and they pass — that is a clear remediation target. Where they fail and you pass — that is your defendable lead.
The Recurring-Scan Workflow
Re-scan the competitor monthly. When they fix an issue you also have, expect them to gain ground. When they add a new schema type, consider matching. When they shorten a title tag, note whether it improved or hurt them in the SERPs.
The Re-scan button is the heart of competitive monitoring in RankSpy. Use it.
What's Next
On-Page is decoded. The final article in this series wraps up the RankSpy workflow — recurring scans, alerts, and the integrated playbook for using RankSpy alongside the rest of the Rankar suite.
Apply This With the Rankar Toolkit
RankSpy works best paired with the rest of the Rankar suite. Spin up the relevant tools: RankTalk • RankOps • RankAudit • RankWriter • RankTracker • RankAIO • RankBridge • RankLinks • RankLocal • RankLaunch • RankSpy • RankUX • RankLead. Each module shares data with the others — fewer tabs, one source of truth.
