RankAudit Competitors Tab — Score Compare Guide
The Competitors tab in RankAudit puts your scores side by side with up to 5 competitor domains across every audit dimension.
---
Introduction
A single-site audit answers "how am I doing?" A competitor audit answers "how am I doing relative to the market?" RankAudit's Competitors tab provides the second view by comparing your scores against the up-to-5 competitor domains you configured at audit setup.
Setting Up the Comparison
If you ran the audit without competitors, the tab shows "Competitor data is missing the user's own row. Mark one competitor with isUser: true." This is the prompt to re-scan with competitors configured.
Click Re-scan in the top bar. In the audit setup form, enter up to 5 competitor domains in the Competitors field. Click Run Audit. After completion, the Competitors tab populates.
Reading the Matrix
Each row is a domain (yours plus competitors). Each column is an audit dimension: Overall Site Health, AI Search Readiness, Technical, Performance, Speed, Schema. Cells show the score; the strongest score per column is highlighted.
A typical matrix pattern: one competitor leads Technical, another leads Schema, you might lead AI Readiness. The competitive landscape rarely has one universal winner.
How to Use the Matrix Strategically
Treat each column as a separate strategic question:
- Where do you lead? Defend. Maintain the gap.
- Where do you lag by a small margin? Attack. A focused sprint can close the gap.
- Where do you lag by a large margin? Triage. Either invest heavily or concede the category.
What's Next
The Competitors tab is the last audit dimension. The final article in this RankAudit series wraps up the workflow — generating client-ready reports and scheduling recurring audits.
Apply This With the Rankar Toolkit
RankAudit works best paired with the rest of the Rankar suite. Spin up the relevant tools: RankTalk • RankOps • RankAudit • RankWriter • RankTracker • RankAIO • RankBridge • RankLinks • RankLocal • RankLaunch • RankSpy • RankUX • RankLead. Each module shares data with the others — fewer tabs, one source of truth.
