Introduction
RankUX is the AI-vision UX auditor inside Rankar.ai's Agency Dashboard. Unlike heatmap or session-recording tools that need weeks of traffic before producing insight, RankUX runs a one-shot scan against any URL and returns a Composite UX Score plus an annotated screenshot with visual-design violations marked. This guide walks through running your first audit using https://rankar.ai as the demo URL.
Step 1: Open Rank UX From the Sidebar
Sign in to Rankar.ai. In the left sidebar under CORE SEO, click Rank UX. The URL becomes /agency-dashboard/rank-ux.
The empty state shows two action buttons:
- 📎 Upload — drop a screenshot of any page you want audited (works on staging, internal tools, or any URL not publicly reachable).
- 🔍 Run UX audit — enter a URL and let RankUX fetch and audit it directly.
Step 2: Run an Audit
Click 🔍 Run UX audit. Enter rankar.ai (or any URL). RankUX launches a live capture: it renders the page in a real browser, takes a high-res screenshot, then runs 52 rule-based + AI-vision checks against the capture.
The scan completes in 20-40 seconds depending on page complexity.
Step 3: Read the Composite UX Score
The top tile shows your headline number: COMPOSITE UX SCORE — 73/100 — Needs work · ↑ +3 vs last scan. The score is "Weighted across 7 UX dimensions · 52 individual checks." The arrow indicator (↑ +3) shows movement vs your last scan.
Score interpretation:
- 90-100 — World-class UX. Rare.
- 75-89 — Solid. Minor improvements only.
- 60-74 — Needs work. Several issues to address.
- 40-59 — Poor. Significant redesign warranted.
- Below 40 — Critical UX problems.
Step 4: Scan the 7-Dimension Score Map
Below the score: a 7-axis radar called "7-Dimension Score Map — Where you're strongest and where to focus." Each axis is one dimension with its 0-100 score. For rankar.ai:
- Visual Hierarchy — 94 ◐
- Accessibility — 90 ◇
- Conversion — 93 ↗
- Content Design — 83 ✎
- Mobile UX — 58 ▣
- Performance UX — 20 ⚡
- Heuristics — 75 ⊕
The radar shape immediately shows your relative strengths and weaknesses.
Step 5: Look at the Annotated Screenshot
To the right of the score: a LIVE CAPTURE panel showing the actual rendered page with violations marked. The header reads Annotated Screenshot · 5 violations marked. Each violation has a numbered marker pointing at the affected element with a caption.
For rankar.ai the 5 violations marked include:
- INCONSISTENT CTA TEXT: '14-DAY TRIAL' VS 'FREE TRIAL'
- STATS COMPETE FOR ATTENTION - EQUAL WEIGHT
- DARK MODE TOGGLE LACKS ACCESSIBLE LABEL
- NO ACTIVE STATE INDICATOR IN NAVIGATION
- PRIMARY/SECONDARY BUTTON STYLING INCONSISTENT
A LEGEND shows the severity color codes: Critical, Warn, Notice.
Step 6: Drill Into Priority Issues
Below the score map: a Top Priority Issues section with a See all 16 → link. The header reads "Highest-severity issues across all 7 dimensions." A Priority Issues — 16 tab in the left rail lets you focus on this view exclusively.
Step 7: Watch the Trend
At the bottom: UX SCORE · LAST 8 AUDITS — a sparkline showing how your score has moved across the last 8 scans, from "3 scans ago" to "Now." Use the trend to confirm whether recent UX work moved the needle.
