Introduction
The Technical tab is RankAudit's classic SEO audit layer — the checks every modern site auditor runs, packaged into a focused, prioritised report. While the AI Readiness tab covers the new AI-era signals, Technical covers the foundational signals search engines still use. For rankar.ai the Technical Health score is 90/100 — Excellent, with 0 Critical, 2 Warnings, 0 Notices, and 11 Passing. This article walks through every check.
The Header Row
Top of the tab: TECHNICAL HEALTH score (0-100), Critical / Warnings / Notices / Passing counts. To the right: PAGES AFFECTED showing the percentage of crawled pages with any issue (0% of 1 crawled for rankar.ai). A filter strip (All / Critical / Warnings / Passing) lets you slice the issue list. A Push 2 to RankOps button creates remediation tasks for every flagged issue in one click.
Group 1: Crawl & Indexing (5 checks)
How search engines and AI crawlers discover and index your site. For rankar.ai: all clear. The 5 checks cover sitemap presence, robots.txt sanity, redirect chains, canonical signals, and crawl-budget waste indicators.
Group 2: On-Page Tags (7 checks)
The 7 on-page tag checks form the most impactful audit subset:
- Viewport meta set —
width=device-width, initial-scale=1. Required for mobile rendering. rankar.ai: passing. - Document language declared —
lang="en". Helps engines deliver the right SERP. rankar.ai: passing. - Title tag present + sized correctly — Target 30-60 chars. rankar.ai has 55 chars — passing.
- Meta description present + sized correctly — Target 120-160 chars. rankar.ai has 177 chars — WARNING (too long; SERP will truncate).
- Exactly one H1 — One per page. rankar.ai has 1 H1 — passing.
- Heading hierarchy is sequential — No H1 → H3 skips. rankar.ai passing.
- Hreflang configured (if international) — Optional unless multi-locale. rankar.ai has no hreflang — note only.
Group 3: Server Health (1 check)
Response codes and availability — the foundation everything else sits on. Checks for 5xx errors, 4xx on important pages, and TTFB anomalies. rankar.ai: all clear.
Pushing Findings to RankOps
The Push 2 to RankOps button (the count matches the number of issues) creates a task in RankOps for each issue, pre-populated with: the URL, the failed check, the recommended fix, and the impact estimate. The integration eliminates the manual step of translating an audit into a backlog.
