Using a real site (yours, a client's, or a practice project), produce a single master keyword database of at least 150 keywords that is fully clustered, intent-tagged, mapped to target URLs and prioritised into a six-month sequence. This mission deliberately combines every earlier lesson into one connected workflow rather than testing each skill in isolation, because that is how the work actually happens in practice.
Step-by-step mission checklist
Work through the stages in order rather than jumping straight to keyword collection, since each stage depends on the output of the one before it.
- 1. Generate 5-8 seed keywords from your site's core offerings
- 2. Expand each seed using modifiers, autocomplete and RankTracker's expansion tool
- 3. Pull GSC quick-win queries and competitor gap terms into the same list
- 4. Deduplicate and cluster into topic groups with one pillar keyword each
- 5. Tag every keyword with intent (informational/commercial/transactional/navigational)
- 6. Map every primary keyword to one target URL, checking for cannibalisation
- 7. Score and sequence into a six-month roadmap using the priority framework
- 8. Import the finished database into RankTracker as tagged, tracked groups
Quality bar for the deliverable
A passing database has no duplicate primary-keyword assignments across URLs, every keyword carries an intent tag, every cluster has an identified pillar, and the roadmap sequence is justified by the priority score rather than arbitrary ordering. If any cluster has fewer than three supporting keywords, go back and expand it further before finalising.
Reviewing your work in RankTracker
Once imported, generate RankTracker's group summary view and check that every group shows a sensible spread of difficulty (not every group all-easy or all-hard) and that your tagged quick-wins and seasonal terms are flagged correctly. This is also the point to set your review cadence for the coming months, since the database is now a live operational tool, not a one-off planning document.
Key takeaways
- ✓Work the stages in sequence — seeds, expansion, clustering, mapping, prioritisation
- ✓Every keyword needs an intent tag and exactly one owning URL
- ✓No cluster should ship with fewer than three supporting keywords
- ✓Treat the finished database as a living tool, not a one-off document
Why this lesson matters
This lesson belongs to Operating RankTracker, the part of Keyword Research Mastery where the goal is: set up a monitoring workflow and complete the capstone keyword database mission.
Read it once, then do it straight away on a real site inside RankTracker. Nothing here is theory for its own sake — every step produces something you can show a client.
Do it now
- 1Open RankTracker with sample data already loaded, so you are not stuck on setup.
- 2Track the keywords from this lesson.
- 3Configure grouped views in RankTracker, then complete the mission checklist to produce your master keyword database.
