Opening the studio

From the RankWriter dashboard click New Document, then choose a template — blog post, comparison, listicle, product page or local page. The template sets a default structure the generator follows, saving you specifying it manually.

Filling the brief

The brief panel asks for a primary keyword, secondary terms, target audience and word count. Fill every field even loosely, since a blank field is treated as 'no preference' and the generator falls back to generic phrasing.

  • Primary keyword and 3-5 secondary terms
  • Audience description in one sentence
  • Target word count

Generating the outline

Click Generate Outline before generating full prose. This produces an H2/H3 structure you can edit, reorder or delete sections from, which is far cheaper to fix than regenerating a full article.

Generating the draft

With the outline approved, click Generate Draft. Text streams in section by section rather than all at once, so you can stop and adjust early if the tone or angle is off.

Key takeaways

  • Choose the template that matches search intent before writing a brief
  • Fill every brief field, even loosely, to avoid generic output
  • Approve the outline before generating full prose
  • Watch the draft stream in and interrupt early if something is off
