The visibility score

At the top of the GEO panel sits a single 0-100 visibility score summarising how often your brand appears across AI Overviews and assistant answers for tracked queries, with a trend arrow against last week.

Click the score to expand a breakdown by AI surface — Google AI Overviews, and other tracked assistants — so you can see which one is dragging the average down.

Opportunity cards

Below the score, opportunity cards list specific queries where you are close to appearing in an AI answer but currently are not, each with a one-line reason such as missing entity clarity or thin source content.

Click a card to jump straight to the relevant recommendation tool — Entity Optimisation, Schema Generator or Content Recommendations — pre-loaded with that query's context.

Recent movement feed

The activity feed logs every detected change in your AI visibility — new appearances, drops, or a competitor overtaking you on a tracked query — timestamped and filterable by surface.

Use the date range picker to review a specific week, useful when correlating a visibility change with a content update or schema deployment.

Why this matters

Neglecting to consistently monitor your Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) visibility within RankAIO leaves your brand vulnerable to unexpected shifts in AI search results. Without a clear picture of your current standing across AI Overviews and assistants, you might be optimising for traditional SERP elements while your competitors capture valuable, high-intent traffic via AI-generated summaries. This reactive approach inevitably leads to missed opportunities, as you only identify problems long after they've impacted your referral traffic and brand presence.

Conversely, diligently utilising RankAIO's GEO Optimisation Panel allows for proactive strategy adjustments. Consider a scenario where RankAIO flags a sudden dip in your AI Overview visibility for a core product query. This immediate insight enables you to investigate the underlying cause – perhaps a competitor's content was recently integrated into a key AI model – and swiftly implement a counter-strategy, such as refining your content to better align with AI summarisation logic or enhancing specific entity relationships. This foresight preserves your market share and maintains authoritative presence in evolving search landscapes.

Prioritising AI Overview Opportunities: The 'Impact vs. Feasibility' Matrix

Once RankAIO identifies potential AI Overview opportunities, it is crucial to qualify and prioritise them effectively. Not all opportunities carry equal strategic weight or are equally actionable. A robust prioritisation framework prevents resources from being diluted across low-impact tasks and ensures focus on initiatives that promise the most significant return on investment in the AI search sphere. This involves evaluating the potential traffic uplift and conversion value against the technical and content resource requirements.

To apply this, analyse the opportunity's 'Potential Impact' – its estimated reach, user intent alignment, and commercial value – against its 'Feasibility' – the effort required in terms of content creation, technical adjustments, and cross-departmental coordination. High-impact, high-feasibility opportunities should be tackled first, followed by high-impact, low-feasibility tasks which require more strategic planning. Low-impact opportunities, regardless of feasibility, should generally be deprioritised unless they contribute to a broader strategic objective.

  • Assess potential query volume and commercial intent for each identified opportunity.
  • Estimate the complexity of content re-optimisation or new content generation.
  • Evaluate technical implementation requirements, e.g., schema adjustments, canonicalisation.
  • Prioritise opportunities that align with current business objectives and product launches.

Do it now

Navigate to the GEO Optimisation Panel within RankAIO and immediately review the "Measure current visibility across AI Overviews and assistants" section to establish your baseline understanding. Pay close attention to any queries where your brand is currently absent from AI Overviews for your primary product or service categories, as these represent immediate gaps in your generative engine presence that warrant further investigation.

  • Open RankAIO and select your primary project.
  • Locate the GEO Optimisation Panel on the dashboard.
  • Identify the top five queries where your AI Overview visibility is lowest or non-existent.
  • Document these queries for a deeper content audit.

Key takeaways

  • Start every session on the GEO panel to see what changed since last visit
  • Follow opportunity cards straight into the relevant fix tool instead of guessing
  • Filter the movement feed by date to correlate changes with your own actions
